It is able to convert RS-232 signals to an RS-485 balanced differential signal in order to extend the communication distance up to 1.2km. It uses an onboard charge pump to gain power from RS-232 signals (RTS, DTR, TXD) without initializing the RS-232 series interface, so does not require external power. An internal transceiver circuit automatically controls the data stream direction. The PIRL is an economical dual element passive infra-red motion sensor that is compact, attractive & easy to install. The PIRL is ideal for commercial office and residential installations. The PIRL reduces false alarms to a very low level due to it's effective elimination of background noise and nuisance stimuli. The PIRL is designed for indoor use only and should not be mounted near large metal objects or metal surfaces.
